He was born on January 4, 1955 in Prague. He graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy of Charles University in Prague – majors in philosophy and history. He then worked as a pedagogue at this faculty for many years and completed rigorous management and internal scientific training there. Since 2005, he has been lecturing on professional ethics, philosophy, cultural anthropology and multicultural education at the Department of Social Sciences of the Faculty of Security Management of the Police Academy of the Czech Republic in Prague. He also works as an ethics teacher at the Department of Security Studies at the Jan Amos Comenius University. He continuously publishes articles in professional magazines (e.g. in the Philosophical Magazine, Security Theory and Practice, Psychology Today) and university textbooks (e.g. “Dictionary of Basic Concepts from Philosophy” – 1999, “Philosophy and Ethics” – 2006, “Police Ethics” – 2009). At PA CR, he is the solver of a scientific research task in the field of professional ethics, and presents the results of his research efforts at conferences here and abroad. He speaks German and Russian. Despite his mature age, he has small children with whom he spends almost all of his free time.
